The Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre (WDGMC) extends sincere gratitude to the Salvation Foundation – a registered NPO dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities through feeding schemes, educational programs and essential donations – and its inspiring founder, Ryan Ellapan, for generously donating Easter gift bags to the children in our paediatric transplant and paediatric oncology wards.
At just 26 years old, Ryan is not only the Director of Salvation Foundation but also a Liver Transplant Survivor who has overcome immense challenges. After battling chronic liver disease from the age of 12, undergoing multiple procedures, and enduring years of pain, Ryan received his life-changing liver transplant on 9 March 2024. Now 13 months post-transplant, he has dedicated his life to helping others through his non-profit organisation, which supports vulnerable communities with feeding schemes, clothing drives, and essential donations.
Ryan’s story is a testament to resilience, compassion, and the power of giving back. His kindness has brought joy to our young patients this Easter, reminding them that hope and healing go hand in hand.
Thank you, Salvation Foundation, for your generosity and for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
